Crystal Palace Women 0-7 Tottenham Women
Dean (2, 19), Quinn (47), Neville (59), Haines (79), Mclean (81), Worm (93)
Impressive Spurs knock 7 past Palace in preparation for life in the FAWSL.
Spurs impressed in this pre-season encounter against Crystal Palace Women, with the goals spread across six different goalscorers. Rianna Dean picked up where she left off last season with a brace, before being withdrawn mid-way through the first half with an injury.
Spurs boasted several new signings in the starting eleven, including former Chelsea and West Ham ‘keeper, Becky Spencer, former Hammer, Ria Percival and former Birmingham forward Lucy Quinn. Spurs retained several of their stars from an impressive promotion campaign last season; mixing a blend of experience with youth.
Spurs demonstrated their attacking prowess with Quinn central to much of their play. Defensively, there were momentary lapses which, against better sides, could have resulted in goals against them.
Spurs rotated their side throughout the second half with rolling subs; Gemma Davison, Megan Wynne and Coral Jade Haines all impressing.
Whilst Palace had fleeting moments, these were few and far between. Skipper, Ashley Hincks impressed for the hosts.
